Greiner

Andreas Greiner received his Ph D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Marburg in 1988 and joined did his postdoc in 1989 at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. He was appointed associate professor for organic chemistry and macromolecular chemistry at the University of Mainz in 1999. In 2000 he became full professor for polymer chemistry and technology at the University of Marburg and joined in 2012 University of Bayreuth as distinguished professor for macromolecular chemistry. Since 2013 he is heading the business unit Future Solution of New Materials Bayreuth GmbH for technology transfer. Present research topics are functional biobased polycarbonates, microplastic, enzymatic degradation of polymers, electrospinning of polymer nanofibers, functional nonwovens, polymer-functionalized nanoparticles, poly(p-xylylene)s by CVD, polymers for coatings, filtration, textiles, medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, and as electrodes for microbial fuel cells. Greiner has authored more than 350 scientific publications on different polymer related topics.
