His research activity is focused on the development of optically-active micro- and nanostructures, 3D printing and electrospinning for photonic applications, advanced imaging and optical methods for organic photo-active materials, and on the investigation of the optical properties of light-emitting polymers, nanofibers and organic-based light-emitting devices. He is Chair of the “Advanced Manufacturing Technologies for Micro- and Nanosystems in Security and Defence” conference (SPIE). He has authored or co-authored more than 150 papers in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals, and many invited contributions to international conferences. He was awarded the “Applied Physics” award at the XCVI Italian Physical Society meeting in 2010, the “CNR-Start-Cup” award in 2010, and the “Start-cup Puglia” award in 2011.
